Awareness Event Sydney – Kairos Partners with Jesus Racing

On the 30th November, four Sydney Regions partnered together under the leadership of NSW State Council Chair Jackie to host an Awareness Event at Stanhope Anglican Church.  With promotion on Hope 103.2 Radio and Sight Magazine, we were pleased to welcome new and familiar faces to a first of its kind event.

Kairos Prison Ministry Australia has been focussed on building Awareness in the communities around Australia.  Finding ways to make Kairos a familiar name by those impacted by incarceration and also in the Christian community.  Part of this Awareness Campaign was to hold an event in Sydney where people could come and hear testimonies of lives that have been changed from the inside out!

With a focus on “Changing Lives from the Inside Out”, attendees heard first hand testimonies from past participants Sue and Ace along with Kairos Volunteers who spoke of the personal impact on their lives.

Another way this event was different to others we have held was the partnering with racing car driver Andrew Fisher of Jesus Racing and ambassador for Life Choices Foundation.  Andrew has competed at the highest level of Australian motorsport over the past 15 years and is well known in the community.

In his work as ambassador with Life Choices Foundation over the past 14 years, Andrew has presented to over 300,000 students and thousands of inmates at gaols and Detention Centres across the country.  It is here that Kairos Prison Ministry Australia found an ideal partner to spread the news about Kairos!  In different ways but in similar settings, we are both reaching out to our community.

“It is the hope that we gain from forgiveness that is compelling” says Andrew Fisher, Founder of Jesus Racing. “Forgiveness releases us from the hold that the past has over us and allows us the opportunity to create a new life where we can experience the freedom to become the person that God wants us to be.”

The event was well received and many people asked for more information about Kairos and how they could get involved.  That information is going back to families, friends and churches in the community.

We thank all that attended and especially our on the ground volunteers who worked so hard to make this event work – from the planning to the execution on the day.  Special thanks to Andrew for taking time out from his very busy schedule and to Stanhope Anglican Church for their support and amazing facilities.

I am looking forward to 2025 when we can look to having more opportunities to invite people new to Kairos to come and hear the life changing impact of the Holy Spirit.
