What if the song is not in CCLI
Consent must be obtained in writing from the copyright holder for any song or music that is used and is not licensed under CCLI
Musicians who play secular music at a Kairos event should use store-bought music so as to not breach copyright. Specific written permission from the artist and or copyright holder may be necessary to copy and distribute secular music. Seeking such permissions may be complex and time consuming. For many copyright holders such requests may be a low priority and it is possible that a request may not even receive a response. The Kairos Support Office does not have the capacity to seek individual permissions and there is no secular equivalent to the CCLI arrangement.
