Forbes, Bathurst and Orange Reunion and Church Visit

group picture

Last month, you would have read about the visit to the Forbes area in NSW to see if Kairos Outside could be relaunched for the community.  Late in May, Deb Poulton and the members of the Kairos Outside Canberra Regional Committee arranged a reunion of former KO Volunteers from Forbes, Orange and Bathurst.

An invitation went out to former volunteers to gather at St Johns Anglican Church hall to reunite, remember the work of Kairos and discuss about relaunching Kairos in the area.

Long standing Kairos volunteer Heather Mann brought the photo albums of past KI Bathurst teams for volunteers to look through and share memories.

The team was then blessed with an evening meal on Saturday with hosts Ian and Marion Unger at Avarest in Parkes which was a lovely end to the day.

The next day, the team gathered at St Johns Anglican Church to speak to the congregation about Kairos and provide further information.  Much thanks to St Johns Anglican Church for inviting Kairos to present.

Between gatherings, the KO Canberra Regional Committee team met and Sue Hodges agreed to being the next leader for the KO Canberra Southern NSW Guest weekend in November – the area that we are relaunching in!

Praise God for the re-opening of the door to this area of Australia, the wonderful legacy of past volunteers and the willingness of the team to serve the women of this area impacted by family and friends who are or have been incarcerated.
