About Us
Dillwynia Correctional Centre in Berkshire Park (near Windsor) was opened in 2004 and housed sentenced female inmates with a minimum or medium security classification. The facility was made up of small single-storey accommodation units spread over a seven-hectare site.
In 2004, with the support of the Chaplain, Christine Gillies, and the General Manager, Marilyn Wright, a small Kairos team entered Dillwynia to run the first Journey Program on a Monday evening. This Journey Program was available for women who had completed a Kairos Short Course at other facilities.
The first Dillwynia Short Course was held over four days in 2004 and with a succession of supportive Chaplains and General Managers and after an interruption due to Covid, the 20th Dillwynia Short Course was held in 2023. The weekly Sunday afternoon Journey Program resumed after a two year hiatus due to Covid.
In 2020 the facility was expanded to accommodate an additional 248 maximum and medium security inmates and additional supporting infrastructure. In late 2022 a small Dillwynia Kairos Team commenced a fortnightly Journey Program in the Special Management Area Placement (SMAP) facility.
Permission was granted in 2023 to hold the first 4 day Short Course in Maximum Security Area 1. The first Short Course in Area 1 was held in May 2024 with eighteen women attending followed by a weekly Sunday afternoon Journey Program.
Currently, Short Courses are held each year in both Area 1 and Area 2 with weekly Sunday afternoon Journey Programs in both Areas.

Kairos Inside Prayer Vigil
We encourage any Christians to join us in prayer for those to whom we share Jesus in the prison. It is a wonderful thing for the inmates attending to see that so many people who do not even know them, are upholding them in prayer 24 hours a day during the week.
