Chair of Kairos Col Stiller and Chief Operating Officer Deb Poulton travelled to the US to attend the Kairos Prison Ministry International (KPMI) Conference in Louisville Kentucky. Read a short extract from Chair Col Stiller about the conference:
The theme of the conference was, “It’s All Ministry”. No matter what you do in Kairos, you are an integral part of the ministry, based on Ephesians 4:16.
Deb Poulton and I arrived two days prior to the start of the conference to “acclimatise” and attend the KPMI Board and International Council (IC) meetings. In our leadup time to the conference, Evelyn Lemly (CEO of KPMI), was our host and made us feel very welcome as part of family.
There was a total of 530 attendees with 2 from South Africa, 2 from El Salvador and 2 from Australia. Evelyn brought great news to the conference that another 4 countries will be added to the international community by 2025 making a total of 13 countries worldwide.
Total number of programs worldwide prior to Covid was just over 800 (the three arms of the ministry). This year so far, we are up to 79% of the 800.
The highlight of the conference was the guest speakers who gave their testimonies of the impact Kairos has made on their life. This was truly uplifting for all in attendance.
