About Kairos

Kairos Prison Ministry Australia is an interdenominational Christian ministry reaching out to incarcerated individuals, their families and those who work with them; to bring sustainable meaning and hope in the place of loneliness, isolation and despair. Our programs offer the opportunity to receive God’s forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ, and to grow in their faith and servanthood in Christian community.

Kairos is a ministry where volunteers from many denominations work together as the body of Christ, setting aside denominational differences to serve together and embody the true meaning of church.

KAIROS OUTSIDE TESTIMONY

Sue’s story of going from darkness to light

Imagine waking up each day and feeling like the world is in darkness. Every day is simply about survival. Your marriage, your family, your work – they all sit in the darkness too.

This is what life was like for Australian Wiradjuri woman Sue Hodges, before she encountered the love of God on a Kairos Outside weekend run by Kairos Prison Ministry Australia. This is where she truly met Jesus and was put on the path to trust in him, bringing the world into colour.

KAIROS INSIDE TESTIMONY

Ace’s story of redemption through Jesus

About eight years ago, Ace’s life hit rock bottom. He had committed serious offences and was facing time in prison. “I was in a mess. Hard things had happened to me, but many of these things I made worse for myself. There was no one to look at except myself in the mirror,” Ace reflects.

When things fell apart Ace started looking for God. Thanks to the faithful testimony of others and the Spirit of God, he heard the invitation to know Jesus and accepted it.

Shortly after, Ace was sentenced to a year in prison. There he encountered Kairos and joined their program. This was a life-changing step in his journey that helped solidify his beliefs.
